Energy technology firm SLB has steadily grown its footprint since arriving in 2023, expanding from an initial 1 million square feet to its current 3.1 million. This latest commitment follows a $30 million investment announced in late 2025, cementing the company’s role as the anchor tenant for the campus. The facility currently supports 820 jobs, a number projected to rise to 1,200 as operations scale, eventually surpassing the 800-person workforce present when General Motors shuttered the plant in 2012.

SLB Fully Occupies Former GM Plant in Shreveport
The 3.5-million-square-foot Shreveport Business Park has reached full capacity after SLB finalized a lease for the remaining space at the former General Motors facility. This expansion marks a complete industrial turnaround for the site, which now hosts three major companies and expects to employ 1,400 workers by 2027.

The site’s revival represents a collaborative effort between Industrial Realty Group (IRG), the RACER Trust, and state economic partners. After the plant sat largely vacant for years, the transition to an active manufacturing hub required marketing to over 50 global prospects before the Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board facilitated the current lease structure. Beyond SLB, the park now hosts operations for Hyundai Glovis and the USPS, effectively reclaiming the property as a primary economic engine for Northwest Louisiana.
