TESSAN pivots from raw power to design with AERO 70 adapter

A single complaint about a bulky adapter falling out of a European wall socket forced TESSAN to abandon its pursuit of high-wattage hardware. Instead of building a heavier power brick, the company spent two years redesigning its flagship travel adapter to prioritize portability, safety, and intuitive user feedback.

The shift in strategy began in 2024, when a customer reported that traditional, heavy adapters were physically incompatible with older, worn-out hotel outlets. This failure prompted the company to pause its development of a 205W unit. During a series of industry events in Berlin and Las Vegas, R&D teams gathered feedback from frequent travelers, confirming that the market valued lightweight, reliable, and intelligent charging over sheer output speed.

CEO Alex noted that the development process moved away from raw specifications toward reducing travel anxiety. The resulting AERO 70 features a built-in smart display that provides real-time status updates, eliminating the guesswork associated with standard charging hardware. By focusing on balanced proportions and internal architectural efficiency, the company aimed to move beyond the aesthetic of industrial equipment toward a design-oriented consumer product.

The AERO 70 is currently available for early backers via a Kickstarter campaign. This transition marks a broader move for TESSAN, which previously gained industry recognition for its power solutions but is now attempting to position itself as a lifestyle-focused travel brand.
