The collaboration focuses on integrating artificial intelligence, industrial internet-of-things applications, and advanced production optimization into Kuwait’s existing infrastructure. SLB, formerly Schlumberger, will also spearhead initiatives in water management and energy transition, though specific financial terms of the deal remain confidential.

To anchor this effort, SLB plans to establish the Ahmadi Innovation Valley, a dedicated facility designed to foster cooperation between industry leaders and academic institutions. Construction is slated to begin in 2026, with the site projected to open its doors by 2028. Olivier Le Peuch, CEO of SLB, noted that the primary hurdle for the energy sector is not a lack of technological capability, but the ability to deploy complex solutions at an industrial scale.
