Avelo Airlines to Launch McKinney National Airport Hub in November 2026

Avelo Airlines is planting its flag in Collin County, naming McKinney National Airport as its newest base of operations. Starting November 11, 2026, the carrier will launch nonstop service to five destinations, marking the first time the airport has hosted a commercial airline and creating over 100 local jobs.

The expansion brings direct flights from the North Texas hub to Las Vegas and four Florida cities: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa. Avelo plans to station two Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft at the facility, leveraging the airport’s pending terminal upgrades to provide a more accessible alternative to larger regional hubs.

Founder and CEO Andrew Levy described the move as a strategic fit for the company’s model of utilizing smaller, less congested airports. City officials, including Mayor Bill Cox, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the region’s rapid growth and the long-term goal of increasing local travel convenience. To mark the arrival, the airline is offering introductory one-way fares starting at $99, with a promotional offer for free first-checked bags on bookings made through July.
