The latest update introduces translation support, aiming to break down language barriers during active sessions. To assist with management, hosts can now appoint up to three co-hosts, functioning much like guest moderators on a broadcast show. Threads Scales Live Chats With New Moderation and Access Tools
Meta is broadening access to its Live Chats feature while introducing granular moderation controls for creators. By allowing Community Champions to host sessions and enabling co-host support, the platform is attempting to refine its real-time engagement tools to better compete with established social networks.

Since its debut, Live Chats has hosted hundreds of daily sessions with thousands of participants. While active messaging is capped at 150 users, the platform allows an unlimited number of spectators to view, react, and participate in polls. This expansion follows a significant milestone for the platform, which recently hit 500 million monthly active users. Threads confirmed that further updates, including desktop support and message pinning, are currently in development to address ongoing creator feedback.
