Too Sweet Cakes to Open Flagship Store at PV Redevelopment

A $750,000 investment is transforming a slice of the former Paradise Valley Mall into a European-inspired bakery. This October, Too Sweet Cakes will debut its fourth retail location, serving as the brand's first flagship store built entirely from the ground up to reflect founder Shelbi Geyer’s original vision.

The 1,800-square-foot space, designed in collaboration with Phoenix-based firm House of Form, features a distinct blush facade and a dedicated walk-up window for commuters. While the shop will continue offering the brand's signature croissant doughnuts and specialty cakes, the location introduces an exclusive savory menu. Patrons can expect Roman-style pizza, baguette sandwiches, and salads, complementing a full coffee bar.

Shelbi Geyer launched the brand in Bend, Oregon, in 2016, evolving it from a wholesale operation into a multi-state retail presence. With pastries currently stocked in over 100 wholesale accounts including Black Rock Coffee and Zupan's Markets, the move into the $2 billion PV development marks a significant expansion for the women-owned business. Geyer noted that this site is particularly meaningful as it serves the community her family calls home.
