General Gustave F. Perna Joins Exiger as Strategic Advisor

Retired U.S. Army Four-Star General Gustave F. Perna has joined Exiger to bolster the supply chain AI firm’s work with government and defense sectors. The appointment comes as the company expands its footprint within federal agencies and the defense industrial base, aiming to integrate military-grade logistics expertise into its digital platforms.

Perna brings decades of high-level experience to the role, most notably his tenure as Chief Operating Officer for Operation Warp Speed, where he directed the distribution of therapeutics for over 300 million people. His background also includes leading the U.S. Army Materiel Command, a position that involved managing 190,000 personnel and overseeing complex munitions supply chains and training operations. Exiger CEO Brandon Daniels noted that Perna’s arrival aligns with a period of rapid growth for the company, which recently secured multimillion-dollar engagements with the U.S. Army and Customs and Border Protection.

For Perna, the transition into the private sector is a logical extension of his military career. He emphasized that national readiness is forged in the supply chain long before a mission begins, requiring the kind of actionable visibility that Exiger’s AI platform aims to provide. By leveraging his expertise in large-scale logistics and readiness, the company plans to accelerate the development of tools designed to preempt disruptions and secure critical industrial infrastructure. His decorated career, which includes the Defense Distinguished Service Medal and the Bronze Star, underscores the company's intent to bridge the gap between military operational requirements and modern, agentic AI technology.
