The collaboration leverages Ribo’s expertise in RNA interference technology alongside Madrigal’s established clinical footprint in the MASH sector. By combining proprietary siRNA drug discovery platforms with proven therapeutic development strategies, the companies aim to address significant gaps in existing liver disease treatments. Ribo and Madrigal Advance siRNA Candidate for MASH Treatment
Suzhou-based Ribo and U.S.-based Madrigal Pharmaceuticals have hit their first major development milestone, officially nominating a lead candidate drug for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis. The partnership, formed just months ago, now moves into IND-enabling studies to prepare for upcoming clinical trials targeting the liver disease.
Li-Ming Gan, co-CEO and Global R&D President at Ribo, noted that the rapid progress reflects the complementary nature of the two firms. As the program transitions into the next phase of regulatory preparation, the teams are focusing on accelerating the candidate toward human testing. This effort is part of a broader push to expand the therapeutic landscape for patients suffering from metabolic liver conditions globally.
