The system streamlines operations by allowing barges to load at the pier and meet larger ships in deeper water. It utilizes a configuration of two deck cranes, two large hoppers, a belt conveyor, and a ship loader to bridge the distance between vessels. The cranes feature stepless speed control for millimeter-level placement, while the box-type boom minimizes sway during heavy sea conditions. To combat the corrosive marine environment, GENMA applied multi-layer anti-corrosion coatings and sealed critical components, ensuring the equipment remains stable and operational despite constant wave movement.

GENMA Deploys Floating Transhipment System to Guinea
A 300,000-ton ore carrier cannot dock in the shallow waters of Boffa, Guinea, forcing a logistical bottleneck for West African mineral exports. GENMA is bypassing this limitation with a newly commissioned floating transhipment system that transfers cargo from small barges to massive deep-sea vessels offshore.
Maintenance and operational continuity remain a primary focus for the deployment. The system features self-lubricating joints and integrated hydraulic power units to reduce potential leak points. GENMA supports this infrastructure through existing service centers in Morocco and Kenya, with a Boffa-based warehouse scheduled to open mid-year. With full integrated testing complete, the hardware is now moving to West Africa to facilitate consistent, high-volume bulk cargo transfers.
