Revolution Medicines Advances Zoldonrasib to Phase 3 Trials

Experimental drug zoldonrasib has demonstrated significant antitumor activity in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer, prompting Revolution Medicines to move the treatment into Phase 3 testing. The results, drawn from two distinct combination regimens, offer a potential breakthrough for a malignancy notoriously resistant to standard clinical interventions.

The company reported that zoldonrasib displayed manageable safety profiles alongside high response rates in both treatment cohorts. Researchers tested the drug in combination with standard chemotherapy for patients who had not previously received treatment, while a separate doublet regimen paired the compound with the RAS(ON) inhibitor daraxonrasib for those who had already undergone prior therapy.

Pancreatic cancer remains among the most lethal oncological diagnoses, frequently identified only at advanced stages. Revolution Medicines is now scaling its efforts by advancing the RASolute 305 trial, which evaluates zoldonrasib alongside chemotherapy. Simultaneously, the firm is preparing the RASolute 309 study to further analyze the efficacy of the zoldonrasib and daraxonrasib combination.
