Northwest Biotherapeutics to Present DCVax-L Survival Data at BNOS

Dr. Marnix Bosch, Chief Technical Officer at Northwest Biotherapeutics, is set to present findings on the survival benefits of DCVax-L at the British Neuro-Oncology Society Annual Meeting. The session, scheduled for July 3 in the UK, centers on the application of propensity score matching to evaluate patient outcomes.

The presentation, titled "DCVax-L–Associated Survival Extension Assessed Through Propensity Score Matching Analyses," highlights the Bethesda-based company's efforts to demonstrate the efficacy of its dendritic cell-based vaccine. By utilizing propensity score matching, the researchers aim to provide a rigorous statistical comparison of survival data for patients treated with the personalized immunotherapy compared to standard care. The full slide deck will be available on the company’s website following the session.

This presentation follows a significant period for the company, which has already completed a 331-patient Phase III trial for glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Results from that study have been published in JAMA Oncology, and the company is currently awaiting the outcome of a Marketing Authorization Application review in the United Kingdom. Northwest Biotherapeutics continues to develop its broader DCVax platform, including DCVax-Direct for inoperable solid tumors, as it seeks to address high-lethality cancers without the toxic side effects typically associated with conventional chemotherapy.
