Meta quietly rolls out Pocket for AI-generated games

Meta has expanded its artificial intelligence portfolio with the launch of Pocket, a mobile application designed to let users build and share interactive mini-games through text prompts. The platform, which functions as a social feed for these creations, marks the company's latest effort to bring generative AI tools into the mainstream.

The software is a direct evolution of Gizmo, a vibe-coded gaming platform acquired by Meta earlier this year. Pocket maintains the core functionality of its predecessor, allowing users to generate experiences—referred to as "gizmos"—via simple instructions. While Meta has kept the release quiet, Appfigures data indicates the app arrived on the App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026. Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi first drew public attention to the project after spotting the listing.

Meta is positioning Pocket alongside its existing suite of creative tools, including AI-driven image generators and the Edits video-editing software. Although the company has not provided an official statement, the lack of a formal announcement suggests the app remains in an early testing phase. Its predecessor, Gizmo, previously secured 635,000 lifetime installs with high user approval, a track record Meta is clearly hoping to replicate as it integrates these generative capabilities across its broader social ecosystem.
