Alibaba’s Damai International Launches ORCA Label and Global Talent Search

Damai International, the overseas division of Alibaba-backed Damai Entertainment, has unveiled its new artist development label, ORCA. The launch coincides with the debut of the "All My Anecdotes Global Audition," an expansive search for performers designed to feed a new international music group and provide talent with professional infrastructure.

The initiative, developed in partnership with the label All My Anecdotes, targets aspiring artists regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Successful recruits will join a roster currently featuring choreographer Audrey Lane and singer-songwriter DANY, both of whom appear in the project's brand trailer. According to Walter Zheng, president of Damai International, the program leverages the broader Alibaba ecosystem to provide training, music production, and stagecraft resources for emerging performers.

Daryl Wang, senior vice president of music business at the company, noted that the project prioritizes borderless collaboration over traditional talent scouting. Selected participants will receive individualized development plans aimed at preparing them for the global stage. Applications for the program are open from July 3 through August 3 via the official All My Anecdotes website and email channels. This move marks a significant expansion for Damai International, which previously launched its global ticketing platform, MAISEAT, in late 2025.
