As consumers shift toward proactive health and weight management, GELITA is positioning its collagen protein solutions as the key to balancing dense nutrition with sensory appeal. The company plans to showcase its latest ingredient technologies at the IFT FIRST Annual Event & Expo, running July 12–15, 2026, in Chicago.

GELITA Targets Active Nutrition Trends at IFT FIRST 2026

At booth #3214, GELITA aims to address the manufacturing hurdles posed by the rising demand for nutrient-dense, smaller-portion foods—a trend accelerated by the widespread adoption of GLP-1 medications. The company’s focus remains on helping brands integrate high-performance collagen into snacks and beverages without compromising on texture or taste.

A central feature of their presentation is OPTIBAR, a specialized collagen solution designed to solve common formulation pitfalls in protein bars, such as brittleness and off-flavors. By improving binding and mouthfeel, the ingredient allows developers to create protein-rich snacks that maintain structural integrity. Beyond bars, GELITA will highlight its Bioactive Collagen Peptides (BCP), which are marketed to support mobility and beauty-from-within goals in functional drink formats. According to Angie Rimel, Marketing Communications Manager for North America, these solutions provide the necessary functionality for brands to meet modern expectations for clean-label, wellness-driven products.
