Disruptive Hires Oaktree Veteran Joy Royal as CFO
After nearly two decades at Oaktree Capital Management, Joy Royal is joining Dallas-based investment firm Disruptive as Chief Financial Officer. Her appointment arrives as the firm approaches $10 billion in assets under advisement, signaling a push to bolster the leadership team during a period of rapid global expansion.

Davis emphasized that Royal’s background in high-level financial oversight at one of the world's leading alternative investment firms makes her a vital addition to the team. Before her long tenure at Oaktree, where she helped manage more than $36 billion in assets, Royal began her career as an auditor at Deloitte. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pepperdine University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Disruptive, established in 2012, focuses on late-stage private technology companies, maintaining a portfolio that spans artificial intelligence, defense technology, and enterprise software.
