Círculo de Crédito currently serves over 1,700 customers, including banks, fintechs, and retail lenders. By integrating Equifax’s EFX.AI technology and cloud-native infrastructure, the company plans to scale its reach in a market where nearly 44% of the population remains unbanked. Equifax to Acquire Mexican Credit Bureau Círculo de Crédito for $750 Million
Equifax has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Círculo de Crédito, Mexico’s fastest-growing credit bureau, in a transaction valued at $750 million. The deal marks a significant expansion for the Atlanta-based company into Latin America's second-largest economy, aiming to leverage cloud-native technology to boost financial inclusion.
For the 12 months ending June 30, 2026, Círculo de Crédito reported estimated revenues of $134 million, representing a 31% increase. Beyond traditional credit reporting, the firm specializes in alternative data—such as utility payments and gig-economy transaction history—which is vital for assessing creditworthiness among the 33 million Mexicans engaged in informal employment. Following the expected close in the fourth quarter of 2026, CEO Juan Manuel Ruiz Palmieri will continue to lead the unit as it integrates into Equifax’s international division.
