Atlanta-based Equifax is acquiring Mexico’s Circulo de Credito in a transaction valued at $750 million. The move marks a strategic expansion for the data giant, securing a foothold in a market where the target company remains the sole provider of dual consumer and commercial credit reporting services.

Equifax Targets Latin American Growth with $750 Million Deal

Circulo de Credito generated approximately $134 million in revenue during the 12-month period ending June 30. Equifax is purchasing the firm from a consortium of owners, including Banca Afirme, Coppel, Grupo Elektra, and several private investors. The transaction is expected to finalize by the end of the year, integrating the Mexican bureau into Equifax’s existing global data and technology infrastructure.
