The expansion centers on a new, decentralized supply chain. Diehl Defence will manufacture the missile's guidance section, while Dutch partners handle major assemblies and final testing. This move bolsters the NATO-aligned industrial base, moving critical production capacity closer to the end users who rely on the Stinger to counter aircraft and cruise missile threats.

Raytheon Partners with European Firms to Double Stinger Production
Raytheon is scaling up global manufacturing of the Stinger missile by shifting key assembly and component production into Europe. By collaborating with firms like Germany's Diehl Defence and Dutch suppliers, the RTX business aims to satisfy surging demand from international allies for the combat-proven portable air defense system.

Tom Laliberty, president of Land & Air Defense Systems at Raytheon, noted that the initiative is designed to ensure allies maintain reliable access to defensive capabilities. Helmut Rauch, CEO of Diehl Defence, described the partnership as a renewed chapter of cooperation, building on previous collaborative efforts between the two defense giants.
