Since the program began six years ago, the credit union has distributed $328,700 to 186 teachers for items ranging from robotics equipment and STEM kits to flexible seating. While all K-12 teachers in Arizona are eligible to apply regardless of their credit union membership status, priority consideration is reserved for those working at Title I schools.

Desert Financial Opens Applications for Arizona Classroom Grants
One hundred Arizona educators stand to receive $1,000 grants for classroom projects as Desert Financial Credit Union launches its annual Adopt-A-Teacher initiative. The program, which runs through July 24, aims to provide essential supplies and learning resources directly to K-12 classrooms across the state.

President and CEO Jeff Meshey noted that the institution maintains a unique connection to the profession, as it was originally founded by educators. Interested applicants must submit a description of their intended use for the funds through the organization's website. Following the July 24 deadline, winners will be notified on August 18 and must confirm their acceptance by August 28.
