Oak Essentials Recruits Expert Panel to Redefine Midlife Skincare

Oak Essentials, the skincare brand founded by Jenni Kayne, is moving beyond product development to establish the Oak Advisory Council, a formal collective of six clinical experts. The initiative aims to provide research-backed guidance for women navigating perimenopause, hormonal shifts, and the physiological realities of aging.

The council comprises specialists across dermatology, nutrition, pelvic health, and mental health, including Dr. Melissa Kanchanapoomi Levin and menopause expert Esther Blum. By integrating these practitioners into its product development and brand communication, the company seeks to shift the industry narrative away from fixing aging toward supporting long-term wellness. Unlike traditional brand partnerships, these members will actively validate ingredient claims and contribute to editorial content, ensuring the brand’s advice remains grounded in clinical expertise.

CEO Lauren Harris emphasized that the council is not a marketing strategy but a response to the systemic lack of reliable resources for women in their 40s and 50s. The brand intends to use these experts to bridge the gap between skincare and broader health education, addressing everything from skin barrier function to the emotional landscape of midlife. This evolution marks a transition for the 2021-founded company, aiming to position itself as a source of advocacy rather than just a provider of topical solutions.
