BASiC Semiconductor Jumps 10% in Hong Kong Market Debut

BASiC Semiconductor specializes in silicon carbide power devices, a critical component for electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and industrial applications. These chips offer a distinct advantage over traditional silicon, enabling power systems to withstand higher voltages and operate with greater thermal efficiency. For electric vehicle manufacturers, this technology serves as a key driver for extending driving range on a single charge.

Despite a consistent climb in annual revenue over the past three years, the company has yet to reach profitability. Management attributes these losses to high raw material costs and the heavy depreciation expenses tied to the launch of new production lines. With the 98 million dollars secured from this offering, the company intends to scale its manufacturing capacity and modernize machinery over the next four years to capture further market share.
