BTQ Technologies Acquires QPerfect to Bolster Quantum Security Stack

Vancouver-based BTQ Technologies has finalized its acquisition of French quantum software firm QPerfect, integrating specialized emulation and digital twin capabilities into its infrastructure. The deal anchors BTQ’s European research operations in Strasbourg, aiming to accelerate the development of hardware-agnostic tools for the post-quantum transition.

The acquisition brings three core technologies into the BTQ ecosystem: the MIMIQ quantum emulator, a digital twin modeling platform, and the Quantum Logical Unit (QLU) control framework. These tools are designed to help researchers and telecommunications providers validate quantum algorithms and test network resilience before physical deployment. By incorporating these systems, BTQ intends to bridge the gap between classical infrastructure and emerging quantum-secure environments, addressing the complex cryptographic handshakes required for future-proof networks.

QPerfect, founded in 2023 and a recipient of the i-Lab Grand Prix, will maintain its Strasbourg operations on the European Center for Quantum Sciences campus. This hub will serve as the primary site for BTQ’s European research and development. The partnership leverages a broader collaborative framework between France and Canada, emphasizing neutral atom physics and quantum software engineering. According to BTQ CEO Olivier Roussy Newton, the integration provides the necessary validation layers to ensure that critical sectors—including defense and finance—can successfully navigate the shift toward quantum-resistant systems.
