HF Sinclair Shuffles Leadership as Ledbetter Takes COO Role

Dallas-based energy firm HF Sinclair has elevated Steven Ledbetter to president and chief operating officer, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to stabilize its executive suite following a turbulent spring that saw the departure of its top leadership team.

HF Sinclair Shuffles Leadership as Ledbetter Takes COO Role

Ledbetter, 51, joined the organization in March 2023 as executive vice president of commercial. His appointment follows the permanent exit of former CEO Tim Go and finance chief Atanas Atanasov, both of whom departed the company in May after taking voluntary leaves of absence earlier this year. Franklin Myers, the current chairman, remains in the chief executive role on an interim basis while the company continues its search for a permanent successor.

In conjunction with the leadership shift, Valerie Pompa moves from her role as executive vice president of operations to become president of growth, technology and transformation. These appointments arrive as HF Sinclair attempts to rebuild its senior management ranks and define a clear path forward after the unexpected leadership vacuum created by the departures of Go and Atanasov.
