Hostie Secures $12M to Scale AI-Powered Restaurant Concierge

Two million guest conversations and 400,000 bookings in a single year have propelled Hostie to a $12 million Series A funding round. The San Francisco-based startup, which automates restaurant communications, aims to use the capital to accelerate product development and expand its leadership team following a ten-fold revenue increase.

Led by Obvious Ventures with participation from Gradient, Scribble Ventures, Burst Capital, and Behind Genius Ventures, the round brings the company's total funding to $16 million. The investment signals significant industry confidence, bolstered by backing from restaurant operators like Tim Stannard of Bacchus Management Group and the team behind Atomic Workshop. The platform currently serves hundreds of establishments, including Flour + Water Hospitality Group and Riviera Dining Group, by managing the rising volume of calls, texts, and private event inquiries that often overwhelm front-of-house staff.

CEO Randall Hom, who co-owns San Francisco’s Back to Back, launched the service to bridge the gap between digital demand and in-person service. By offloading logistical tasks to AI, Hostie allows restaurant teams to prioritize face-to-face guest interaction. The company is now scaling its operations, recently bringing on industry veterans Jeff Jones from OpenTable as Head of Sales and Hayley Foppiani from BentoBox as Head of Marketing to oversee its next phase of national expansion.
