Alzchem Group Selects Bushy Park for New U.S. Chemical Facility
The German-based specialty chemicals manufacturer Alzchem Group AG has selected the 1,530-acre Bushy Park industrial site in Berkeley County, South Carolina, for a new U.S. production facility. The project aims to bolster domestic output of nitroguanidine, responding to consistent demand within global industrial markets.
Beyond physical infrastructure, the expansion leverages the Charleston region’s specialized labor pool in chemical processing. The project, supported by a partnership with Berkeley County and the State of South Carolina, is currently transitioning into the Front-End Engineering and Design phase. Construction is slated to commence in 2027, marking a significant addition to the site, which currently hosts ten industrial tenants and roughly 1,200 employees.
