The funding bolsters the American Red Cross and the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, as the region grapples with the aftermath of property damage and ongoing displacement across local neighborhoods.
Beyond financial support, Indiana American Water employees have mobilized their own resources to assist in the cleanup. Teams utilized company backhoes, dump trucks, and pumps to clear downed trees and debris, working alongside Lake County Emergency Management to restore road access. For many of the volunteers, the recovery mission is personal; they live in the affected areas and continued to maintain water infrastructure throughout the storms even while their own neighborhoods faced significant power outages and structural damage.
