Enovix Appoints Former Apple Executive Michael Vyvoda as COO

To scale its battery production, Fremont-based Enovix has tapped Michael Vyvoda, a veteran of Apple’s manufacturing operations, to serve as its new chief operating officer. The appointment, effective July 29, places the 53-year-old in charge of the company’s global supply chain and manufacturing engineering divisions as it seeks to ramp up output.

Vyvoda joins Enovix following a stint as chief operating officer at Magrathea Metals. His background includes a pivotal role as director of product operations at Apple, where he oversaw the high-volume manufacturing strategy for the company’s AirPods line. The lithium-ion battery developer intends to leverage this experience to stabilize and expand its own production capabilities.

Under the terms of his employment, Vyvoda will command an annual base salary of $440,000. His compensation package also includes a performance-based bonus structure, with a target set at 60% of his base pay.
