Public voting opened July 9 and runs through July 12 via The General’s official Instagram account. The finalists—Junior Holguin of Queens, New York; Nicholas King of Cerritos, California; and Raina Tanner of Warren, Ohio—were selected based on stories that illustrate the profound influence of WWE programming on their personal lives.
Holguin credits the underdog mentality of CM Punk for fueling his drive to become the first college graduate in his family. King views the promotion as a vital connection to his late grandfather and a cornerstone of his marriage. Meanwhile, Tanner found the courage to confront her own battle with cancer after watching Roman Reigns publicly navigate his leukemia diagnosis. Kale Sligh, associate vice president of marketing at The General, noted that the selection process was difficult due to the depth of the submissions received from the fan base.
