NASA Federal Credit Union Wins Celent Award for AI Risk Management

The Upper Marlboro-based credit union, which manages $5.7 billion in assets, turned to the DataVisor platform to combat increasingly sophisticated financial crimes. By transitioning to a unified FRAML intelligence layer, the organization consolidated fraud, anti-money laundering, and behavioral signals into a single, automated ecosystem. This shift allows the credit union to pivot away from manual oversight, effectively reducing backlogs from days to hours.

Doug Nahas, Chief Operating Officer at NASA Federal, noted that the modernization effort focuses on balancing robust security with member experience. Beyond the significant reduction in false positives, the institution reported a 20% improvement in fraud detection precision. Celent analysts selected the credit union for the top honor based on the initiative's measurable business impact and the technical excellence of its AI-driven implementation.
