Jackpot.com pivots to skill-based gaming in industry-first move

Jackpot.com is shifting its business model beyond traditional lottery courier services by integrating real-money, peer-to-peer skill games. By partnering with the THNDR network, the platform now allows users to compete in games like Blackjack and Solitaire, marking the first time a major lottery service has introduced competitive tournaments.

Jackpot.com pivots to skill-based gaming in industry-first move

The $46 billion skill-based gaming market represents a departure from the chance-driven mechanics of standard lottery products. Unlike digital scratch cards or draw games like Powerball, these new offerings rely on player performance to determine outcomes. Jackpot.com’s integration includes a variety of titles, ranging from card games to skill-based slots, all supported by THNDR’s established infrastructure.

THNDR brings a proven track record to the collaboration, boasting a 99.99% match-fill rate and experience across more than 25 operators. For Jackpot.com, this expansion is designed to capture a younger, digitally-native demographic that favors high-frequency competition over passive ticket purchasing. The move follows recent brick-and-mortar efforts, including a branding partnership with Kroger at fuel stations across the U.S.

Currently, the new suite of games is available to users in Arkansas, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio. While the platform continues to offer traditional lottery services, the inclusion of tournaments suggests a long-term strategy to transform the app into a comprehensive gaming destination. According to THNDR CEO Desiree Dickerson, the partnership has already surpassed initial performance expectations, signaling a broader industry trend toward merging lottery platforms with competitive gaming networks.
