The coalition, operating under the banner We Pay the Tariffs, launched an interactive map utilizing data from Trade Partnership Worldwide, LLC to track the financial toll of various trade measures. These include levies imposed under Sections 122, 232, and 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, as well as actions involving the International Emergency Economic Powers Act—a mechanism the U.S. Supreme Court blocked in February.

Small businesses report $317 billion in losses from Trump tariffs
A coalition of American small businesses reports that President Donald Trump’s trade policies have drained $317 billion from the economy since March 2025. The group released a state-by-state analysis highlighting that these costs hit consumers and domestic firms hardest, despite the administration’s promises of a manufacturing renaissance.

With temporary 10% surcharges set to expire on July 24, the administration plans to transition to permanent Section 301 tariffs. Executive director Dan Anthony warned that this pivot will only exacerbate the current economic strain, noting that trade deficits have risen while manufacturing jobs continue to decline. In an open letter to Congress, business owners argued that tariffs effectively function as a regressive tax, disproportionately harming working-class families and smaller competitors while failing to deliver the promised industrial growth.
