The Flow Forward program runs from July 14 to 16, utilizing both the American Water headquarters on the Camden Waterfront and the Delaware River Regional Water Treatment Plant in Delran. Students will gain practical exposure to the utility sector through mock interviews, resume workshops, and direct mentorship from industry professionals. By touring treatment facilities and engaging in team projects, participants learn how technical roles in fields like finance, communications, and water quality directly impact the daily health of their neighborhoods.

Camden Teens Explore Water Utility Careers Through Flow Forward Program
High school students from Free All Minds and Women of the Dream will step inside the water industry this July, participating in a three-day career development camp hosted by New Jersey American Water. The initiative aims to connect local youth with professional pathways in engineering, operations, and public service.

Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen and New Jersey American Water President Mark McDonough are scheduled to open the event. For the company, the camp serves as a long-term investment in the local talent pipeline. McDonough emphasized that the program is designed to be a visible and lasting contribution to the city, introducing students to professional possibilities that exist within their own community. The initiative targets sophomores, juniors, and seniors, providing them with the professional skills and networking opportunities necessary to navigate future career choices effectively.
