RecordPoint pivots to channel-first model amid AI governance surge

As organizations rush to integrate artificial intelligence, RecordPoint is shifting to a channel-first business model. The Seattle-based company launched a global partner program today, aiming to capitalize on the increasing necessity for data governance tools that underpin trustworthy AI deployments in highly regulated enterprise sectors.

RecordPoint pivots to channel-first model amid AI governance surge

CEO Anthony Woodward noted that data and AI governance have converged into a singular boardroom priority, transforming compliance from a back-office task into a significant enterprise budget line. The company claims AI remains only as reliable as the data supporting it, a realization that has spurred demand for their platform's classification and lifecycle management capabilities.

The new program, headed by former Nintex executive Christian Lucarelli, features two distinct tracks: a reseller pathway with four tiers and a co-sell model for those working alongside RecordPoint’s direct sales teams. While the entry-level Aggregator tier requires no revenue commitment, higher tiers offer increased margins for partners who meet specific sales targets. All participants must undergo technical and sales certifications to maintain service consistency.

RecordPoint intends to position its technology as the underlying layer for consultants and systems integrators who manage broader digital strategies. By providing a partner portal, marketing funds, and integration with Microsoft’s co-sell motion, the company expects to scale its reach across global advisory firms and managed service providers. This strategic pivot arrives fifteen years after the company’s founding, marking an effort to leverage external expertise in a market where clients increasingly prefer comprehensive advisory services over standalone software.
