The scholarship program aims to bridge the gap between rigorous academic training and real-world mission requirements. For Nightwing, the investment serves as a pipeline for the next generation of intelligence and cyber professionals. Tim Zentz, Vice President of Nightwing’s Cyber Offense and Defense Experts (CODEX), noted that supporting students today remains critical to hardening the future national security workforce.

For Sun, the financial backing provides a foundation to pursue specialized interests in systems security and hardware design. She plans to leverage the support to refine her expertise in secure computing architectures, citing a professional ambition to build more resilient digital infrastructures. The AFCEA Educational Foundation continues to manage the fund as part of its broader mandate to foster STEM talent for government and military applications.
