Jixi Positions Itself as Heilongjiang’s New Tourism Hub
Jixi City hosted a major cultural and tourism promotion conference on July 8, marking a strategic pivot for the northeast Chinese region. The event, part of the 8th Heilongjiang Provincial Tourism Industry Development Conference, showcased a blend of ancient Sushen civilization, border landscapes, and the city’s industrial mining heritage.

Xu Peng, vice chairman of the World Tourism Alliance, noted that Heilongjiang is successfully transforming its cold-climate resources into a thriving economic engine. Beyond the host city’s initiatives, the province has launched a 100-day summer tourism campaign. This effort includes ten curated travel routes that capitalize on the region’s expansive forests, wetlands, and border rivers, signaling a coordinated move toward a province-wide consumption ecosystem.
