Cardiol Therapeutics Publishes Phase II Data on Recurrent Pericarditis

The Journal of the American Heart Association has published results from Cardiol Therapeutics' Phase II MAvERIC study, confirming that the drug candidate CardiolRx™ significantly reduces inflammation and chest pain in patients suffering from recurrent pericarditis, providing a critical clinical foundation as the company nears the completion of its Phase III trial.

Cardiol Therapeutics Publishes Phase II Data on Recurrent Pericarditis

The peer-reviewed publication details how CardiolRx™ achieved rapid, sustained relief for individuals burdened by high disease activity. Beyond managing acute symptoms, the study recorded a substantial decrease in annual recurrence rates, alongside a safety profile that the company describes as favorable. These clinical outcomes were central to designing the ongoing, double-blind, placebo-controlled MAVERIC trial.

David Elsley, President and CEO of Cardiol Therapeutics, noted that the data offers the medical community a comprehensive look at a potential non-immunosuppressive treatment option. With patient enrollment for the Phase III study now entering its final stages, the company aims to demonstrate that its small-molecule therapy can effectively alter the standard of care for a condition often characterized by debilitating hospitalizations and limited therapeutic choices.
