Runway Growth Capital Elevates Carmela Thomson to CFO
Carmela Thomson has been named Chief Financial Officer at Runway Growth Capital, succeeding Thomas B. Raterman in a move designed to ensure operational continuity. Raterman, a veteran of the firm since 2015, will transition into the role of Vice Chairman to focus on long-term strategic initiatives and capital formation.

David Spreng, CEO and founder of Runway, cited Thomson’s command of the firm's capital structure and internal leadership as primary drivers for the promotion. Raterman, who previously served as both CFO and Chief Operating Officer, will remain active on the company's investment committee. His new mandate centers on portfolio optimization and platform-level mergers and acquisitions, building on his track record of executing key milestones such as the firm's recent transactions involving BC Partners Credit and Mount Logan Capital.
