Bloomberg Law Brings AI Research Tools to AALL 2026

From July 18–21, Bloomberg Law will host demonstrations and lead discussions on the intersection of technology and ethics. Principal Legal Analyst Eleanor Tyler is set to moderate a panel titled 'Litigation in the Age of AI Slop,' which addresses the growing challenge of identifying AI-generated misinformation in court filings and establishing rigorous source verification standards within law firms, courts, and academic institutions.

The company is showcasing its AI Assistant, which utilizes authoritative internal content to answer complex research queries. A key feature on display, 'Deep Thinking,' automates multi-step research by executing plans across the platform's database before synthesizing results with transparent reasoning. These tools aim to reduce the time spent on manual information gathering, allowing practitioners to shift focus toward strategic legal analysis.

Aaron Pierce, Head of Bloomberg Law, emphasized that the firm’s strategy centers on grounding innovation in verifiable data. As the legal sector grapples with the transformation of traditional research methods, the organization positions its platform as a guide for professionals tasked with vetting new technologies while maintaining institutional standards for accuracy and reliability.
