Illinois House Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch is set to host the event, bringing together a group of trailblazers who have each reached historic milestones in their respective states. The attendees include New York Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, Virginia House Speaker Don Scott, Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna E. McClinton, and Delaware House Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown. This assembly of leaders represents a significant chapter in American legislative history, focusing on the shared commitment to breaking systemic barriers and expanding opportunities for constituents.

"Beyond the Gavel is about honoring leaders who have opened doors for others, strengthened our democracy, and proven that public service can create lasting change," Welch stated. The gathering aims to connect elected officials, community advocates, and labor organizers to discuss the collective influence of these leaders on the national stage. The brunch takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at NAIA, located at 300 N. La Salle Drive. Attendance requires an advance RSVP and a $300 ticket, with proceeds supporting the initiative's focus on legacy and transformational governance.
