With silver shovels hitting the dirt at 7707 Wolf River Circle on July 7, West Tennessee Bank officially transitioned from a temporary presence to a permanent fixture in Germantown. The move signals a deepening commitment to Shelby County, where the institution has operated since first entering the market four years ago.
Beyond traditional retail banking, the institution operates as a Community Development Financial Institution. Shelby County Chairman Mike Edwards emphasized that the bank’s mission prioritizes local investment, ranging from school sponsorships to small business credit access. Vice Mayor Mary Anne Gibson noted that the city anticipates the bank’s long-term civic engagement, mirroring its established reputation in other Tennessee municipalities. The project represents a significant expansion for the parent organization, Decatur County Bank, which has maintained operations in the region since 1899.
