Fairway Home Mortgage Launches Nonprofit to Combat Senior Fraud

Criminals increasingly target older adults through sophisticated social engineering and impersonation scams, prompting Fairway Home Mortgage to launch Fairway SAFE. This new nonprofit initiative aims to provide seniors and their families with the essential tools, education, and advocacy required to identify and prevent financial exploitation before it occurs.

Fairway Home Mortgage Launches Nonprofit to Combat Senior Fraud

The initiative, known as Senior Advocacy & Financial Education, debuts with a national webinar titled "Stay Safe: Protecting Yourself from Scams & Financial Abuse," scheduled for July 29. Fraud expert Steven J. J. Weisman will lead the session, focusing on emerging deceptive tactics and practical defense strategies. According to Fairway SAFE President Janet Koopman, the program seeks to bolster the confidence and independence of seniors by demystifying the modern fraud landscape.

Beyond the initial webinar, the organization plans to develop a broader framework of community partnerships and educational resources. By providing a secure environment for seniors and caregivers to ask questions, Fairway SAFE intends to shift the focus from reactive damage control to proactive protection. Interested individuals can register for the July 29 event via the organization’s portal to access insights on current exploitation trends and personal financial security.
