Supporters Rally for Crosley Green Ahead of August Parole Hearing

A public prayer vigil will take place July 30 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Titusville, as supporters gather to advocate for the release of 68-year-old Crosley Green. The event precedes his critical August 12 parole hearing before the Florida Commission on Offender Review in Tallahassee.

Supporters Rally for Crosley Green Ahead of August Parole Hearing

Green has spent over 35 years in Florida prisons following a 1989 murder conviction in Brevard County, a case he has consistently challenged. Although a federal court previously ruled the conviction wrongful, that decision was later overturned on appeal. During a period of conditional release between 2021 and 2023, Green maintained an exemplary record, holding steady employment and participating in community life before being returned to custody.

The upcoming vigil features speakers including Green’s legal counsel, family members, and faith leaders. The program also includes CBS News "48 Hours" correspondent Erin Moriarty and Florida Today editor John Torres, both of whom have documented the case for years. If the Florida Commission on Offender Review denies parole, Green faces a tentative release date in 2054, at age 97. The event is open to the public and will be broadcast via the Justice for Crosley Green Facebook page.
