NEDHSA and Louisiana Love Home Join Forces to Combat Human Trafficking

Trauma-informed care is moving into the residential space in Monroe, as the Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NEDHSA) launches a partnership with the Louisiana Love Home for Children to provide behavioral health support and trafficking prevention programming specifically tailored for vulnerable young women.

The collaboration, formalized through a new Memorandum of Understanding, integrates clinical expertise directly into the residential environment. Residents will now receive individualized counseling, grief support, and substance use prevention services. By embedding these resources on-site, the organizations aim to remove traditional barriers to care for survivors who require stability alongside medical intervention.

Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, Executive Director of NEDHSA, emphasized that the initiative focuses on addressing the root causes of exploitation rather than merely reacting to crises. Beyond clinical services, the partnership expands into community advocacy. Both organizations plan to co-host outreach events, including the Annual Opioid Summit and the Youth Summit, to heighten regional awareness regarding sex trafficking and recovery resources. This network-based approach aligns with NEDHSA’s broader strategy of coordinating care across 12 parishes in Northeast Louisiana to foster long-term resilience for local youth.
