Emerson, a shortstop from Fort Worth Christian High School in Texas, enters the spotlight following his selection as the second overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. A dominant force on the diamond, he batted .508 this season while leading his team to a state championship. Beyond his athletic profile, he has balanced his training with volunteer work at the North Texas Food Bank and local youth coaching initiatives.

For Missouri’s Maddie DiMaria, the award marks a historic second consecutive win. The Cor Jesu Academy junior concluded an undefeated 25-0 season with 67 goals, cementing her status as the top recruit in her class. Committed to the University of North Carolina, she has paired her on-field production with a 4.24 weighted GPA and extensive service work through organizations like the Special Needs Soccer Association. The recognition serves as the peak of a week-long celebration in New York, where Gatorade honored its national winners for their contributions to both their sports and their local communities.
