C.S. Lumber Annual Profits Slide as Revenue Stagnates

A 693 million yen net profit for the fiscal year ending May 31 marks a sharp decline for C.S. Lumber Co., falling well below the 1.16 billion yen recorded in 2025. The Tokyo-listed timber firm faced a challenging year as both top-line revenue and operating margins contracted under Japanese accounting standards.

Annual revenue for the group dipped to 20.38 billion yen, down slightly from the 20.67 billion yen reported in the previous period. The pressure on the bottom line was more pronounced, with operating profit dropping to 1.13 billion yen from 1.77 billion yen. Consequently, pretax profit retreated to 1.00 billion yen, compared to 1.68 billion yen a year earlier.

Shareholders saw earnings per share fall to 374.69 yen, a significant contraction from the 625.99 yen posted in 2025. These results reflect the current fiscal environment for the company as it navigates tighter margins across its core operations.
