In the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, the first shipment of PV modules from JA Solar has arrived, marking a critical step in the construction of the world’s largest solar-plus-storage facility. Operational capacity is slated for 2027, with the generated electricity specifically earmarked to meet the surging power demands of AI computing. Beyond hardware supply, JA Solar is positioning its technology as a core component of the digital economy. During Intersolar Europe 2026, the company collaborated with Deloitte to publish a framework for measuring the environmental footprint of AI computation, attempting to bridge the gap between hardware deployment and sustainable data center operations.
