The initiative targets high-demand roles such as SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Practitioner, and SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager. By integrating these certifications into the Department of Labor’s CareerOneStop and the U.S. Military’s COOL directory, the program removes financial barriers for those seeking to validate their expertise for the private sector and government roles. The SAFe Scrum Master Certification has already cleared the Department of War COOL Standards Review Process, marking the first of several credentials now eligible for GI Bill reimbursement.

Scaled Agile Opens GI Bill Funding for Military Certification Paths
Veterans and active-duty military personnel can now pursue industry-standard Agile certifications without out-of-pocket costs. Scaled Agile, Inc. has aligned its training programs with federal funding pathways, including the GI Bill and military Credentialing Assistance, to help service members transition their leadership experience into recognized civilian credentials.

Travis Moorer, a U.S. Army veteran and strategic advisor at Scaled Agile, noted that the core competencies of military service—such as managing complex dependencies, budget synchronization, and cross-functional team alignment—map directly to the requirements of Agile leadership. The certifications aim to bridge the gap between military operational experience and the specific vocabulary used by recruiters in technology and defense contracting. Beyond the classroom, the program is designed to facilitate the rapid deployment of secure software and infrastructure, leveraging the existing discipline of military personnel to improve supply chain, cyber operations, and administrative workflows.
