Mews rolls out automated revenue tools for global hospitality

Amsterdam-based hospitality platform Mews has unveiled three automated financial features aimed at stabilizing hotel cash flow. By integrating recurring payments, expanded multicurrency processing, and streamlined accounts receivable, the system targets revenue leakage points from the initial booking phase through the final post-stay invoice settlement.

The suite of tools addresses specific operational bottlenecks that often plague property management. Recurring Payments allows hotels to automate collection for extended stays or membership services, eliminating manual triggers. The feature, already tested by over 100 properties, has successfully processed more than 16,000 payment plans. According to Tom Nijst of The Student Hotel, the automation saves his team four hours of administrative work weekly while ensuring a 98% on-time collection rate.

Simultaneously, Mews is expanding its Multicurrency functionality to the US and Canada. This tool allows hotels to capture a portion of currency conversion fees that typically revert to banks. Since its European launch 14 months ago, nearly 5,000 properties have generated €1.55 million in additional revenue, with some hotels offsetting their entire Mews subscription costs through these transaction fees. The final addition, Accounts Receivable, automates the often-delayed post-stay billing process. By digitizing invoice issuance and reconciliation, the system reduces the typical week-long wait times for payment collection. Luca Flamini, a senior manager at CX Living, noted that the automation replaced seven days of manual chasing each month with real-time cash flow visibility.
