A decade after leaving Meta, Sheryl Sandberg is betting $10 million on the digitization of car maintenance. Her family office, Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, led the latest funding round for San Diego-based Self Inspection, a startup aiming to replace manual body damage assessments with smartphone-powered AI analysis.
Beyond Sandberg, the round attracted backing from DVx Ventures, U.S. AutoForce, and Westlake Financial. CEO Constantine Yaremtso notes that the technology has already saved clients over $80 million in costs and 300,000 operational hours. With this fresh capital, the company intends to scale its enterprise reach and launch operations in Europe, competing against infrastructure-heavy alternatives like UVeye by emphasizing the ubiquity of high-quality smartphone cameras.
