Metropolis Adds Garcetti, Howard, and Park to Advisory Board

The new advisory team will guide the company through a period of rapid scaling, focusing on public-private partnerships, national security standards, and financial growth. CEO Alex Israel stated that these leaders provide critical oversight for the company’s efforts to integrate computer vision into everyday physical environments. Garcetti intends to leverage his experience in urban policy to help the firm collaborate with local governments, while Howard will focus on the security and resilience of the company’s critical infrastructure systems. Meanwhile, Park brings expertise in financial strategy to support the firm’s expanding membership network.

Metropolis currently maintains a significant presence in the North American market, operating at over 4,200 locations. The company processes more than $5 billion in annual transaction volume and continues to scale its checkout-free payment platform. By replacing traditional credential-based access with AI-powered recognition, the company aims to streamline urban mobility and retail transactions. With these high-level additions, Metropolis seeks to solidify its position as a foundational layer for what it terms the Recognition Economy.
